What with the Golden Globes and the impending Oscars, awards season is in full swing in the movie world.
And also in Sewing Blogland.
Daisy and Jane over at Daisy Donut have kindly nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award…and I’m delighted to accept. Thank you so very much.
Alice-who-is-a-cat is more than a little miffed at me socialising with cute pups.
She’ll just have to get over it!
As always with such things there are rules…and I’m not going to be the one to break them.

7 things about me…that you don’t already know!
- The one thing I want to achieve this year is to slow down. In all areas of life I’m always on the go at high speed. This is not a good thing. My loved ones are forever telling me to slow down and take it a little easier. So I’m going to do so. Fewer commitments, fewer plans, less rushing.
- I’m going to find No 1 so flipping difficult. I am rubbish at taking it slow!
- In the spirit of encouraging me to slow down, Alice-who-isn’t-a-cat bought me a yoga DVD for Christmas. And I’ve been using it and I’m loving it.
- No 3 is nothing short of miraculous. I don’t ‘do’ exercise. But I think I could get into yoga.
- Taking into account items 1-4…I’m itching to start redecorating our home. But, taking into account items 1-4 (and the small thing of lack of funds)…I’m just plotting and scheming at the moment. Expect to see some posts featuring my inspiration over the coming weeks. The quilt I’m
planningthinking about for Button’s room is to. die. for! - I don’t consider plotting and scheming to be anywhere in the same region as a plan. Because, as I said, I’m not doing plans this year!
- I get the feeling The Husband would disagree with that last statement. I suspect I won’t be able to fool him
for longat all. But you can’t blame a girl for trying.
7 lovely bloggers for you to go and visit that I haven’t previously told you about
I can’t tell you just how fabulous and inspirations these ladies are…so grab yourself a cuppa or a glass of something lovely, get comfy and go enjoy.
Well shucks! Thank you for the nomination 🙂 !!
You’re awfully welcome…I just adore your blog and your fabulous makes.
Thanks for some new links! And I LOVE those dogs. So adorable. Slowing down is an endless struggle for me. I fall into the “you can rest when you’re dead” camp. Mind you, having been half dead this fall, I’m getting on the bandwagon 🙂
I hear you…and I’ve not been ill this last year…just generally worn at the edges.
It’s going to take some doing…;-)
Aww thanks a lot Evie! You’ve made my day 🙂 and I’m honoured to be among such wonderful ladies! I’m blushing…
Just letting you know that my blog has moved recently to this new address: http://monbouton.fr so you can update reader and links.
I totally agree with you in number one, but it’s probably the hardest to achieve, I need to slow down too…
You are most welcome…and I’ve updated links and reader with your new address.
Thanks for the nomination! Oddly, I think my thing to do this year is to speed up! Or maybe it’s not that, but it’s at least to be more efficient and really take better advantage of my time. 🙂
I think slowing down will force me to do that…which hopefully will result in more sewing time. Hurrah!
I have to say, I’m with you on numbers 1 and 2… plus I just started yoga lessons (courtesy of a x-mas gift certificate) last week. Here’s to a year of slowing down. Congrats on the award!
Thank you. How are the yoga lessons going? I think that they’d be hugely beneficial and also lots of fun.
Congratulations – and good luck! 😀
Thank you. And I think I might need it.
Congratulations, and celebrations….and a bit of plotting and scheming never goes amiss 😉
As long as I’m not ‘planning’ I’m fine!
Oh good no planning. I salute you on the slow sewing too. Again.
Thank you. I want sewing to be fun again. And to do the best sewing I possibly can. And to learn new techniques. This seems the best way for all of that to happen. We shall see.
Sorry I’m so late on this, but thank you for the nomination! I’ll post about it as soon as I can!
You’re very welcome.
