Yesterday, for the first time in quite a few weeks, I escaped.

The tiny terrors were at their grandparents for the morning, so I donned a skirt and some lipstick (and some other items of clothing and footwear…it is winter here) and hot-footed over to visit Lara Croft.  Lara’s sister was staying for a few days and Himmelbjerget and Black Purl also came.

I drank coffee and ate biscuits.

I participated in conversations without having to answer a question from a small person.  Or having to jump up to stop one small person from beating the other over the head with large pieces of Duplo.  Or having to shout to be heard over small people rampaging through the house impersonating lions or bears and their shrieking prey.

It was bliss.

Don’t get me wrong.  I love my kids more than life itself.  But it was still lovely to play at being a grown up for a few hours.

And I cast on a new project. Multnomah by Kate Flagg which is a free download from Ravelry. Of course.

The yarn is Summer Moss 55% Silk, 45% Cashmere from Sundara Yarns.  It’s just gorgeous.

It’s a lovely knit so far.  The kind you can do whilst chatting and drinking coffee and eating biscuits!

PS…if you’re wondered what’s happened to Ingenue…I’m about 5 rows from finished if, and it’s a big if, I don’t have to frog the hem panel for the 5th time because I’m not paying attention to the simplest pattern in the world!  Eejit!

PPS…and I am stashbusting…I’ve prepared a variation of the Birthday Party Dress pattern and cut it out today to make another pinafore for Button for nursery.

Pictures of both to follow soon.
