There’s a recurring theme, Chez Stitches, at the moment, of super crazy weeks where I’m running round like the proverbial Blue Ar*@d Fly and getting pretty much nothing of any real substance achieved.

Well, this last week was one of those weeks.  Three days were spent on adoption paper chases which left me fraught and frazzled, but I did manage to get the first of the blinds finished, but not hung.  I’ll get to that, and to its sister blind this week.  I’m determined. I want them done and up.

But whilst I’ve been whizzing round the county picking up and dropping off elusive documents, I’ve had the chance to ruminate and plan and realised that sometimes you’ve just got to cut your losses.

So I’ve gone through the workroom again and donated any unfinished objects that have been lying around for any significant length of time.  I’ve been kidding myself that I’d get round to them, but they’ve been lurking around in the back of my head whispering dementedly and stopping the creative flow.  Be gone, foul voices!

Another item that I’m admitting defeat on is the Miss Matty jacket.

Now I know what you’re thinking…I’ve only just finished it…but I’ve had ample opportunity to wear it since completion and every time I go to put it on, I change my mind.  It’s not that I don’t like it…I do.  It just doesn’t do it for me.

You know the “it“.  The one that makes you feel fabulous and skinny and smart and ever so slightly Parisian. My red coat does it. But Miss Matty….nope.  On me Miss Matty is just not working it.

So I’m biting the bullet and sending her out into the world to find a home where she’ll be loved and worn.

I’m also adding the Japanese handbag book “Couturier un Sac”:

which I bought some time ago and have never used.  I love the bags but none of them fit my lifestyle.  It’s time there was a Fashion/Life Balance going on in this house.

So I need to fathom the mysteries of Etsy selling, I think, and use the cash to make something new that I do love and wear.

The Lucy cardigan is knitted.  I’m just sewing in ends and need buttons, but it will be ready for public viewing this week.
